Viguerie Joins Coalition Letter on Combating Anti-Semitism

CHQ Chairman Richard A. Viguerie announced today he signed a coalition letter to the Department of Education and Department of Justice led by Advancing American Freedom

asking the administration’s plans to counter the rise of anti-Semitism that is being seen across the country and particularly on college campuses.

Mr. Viguerie was joined on the letter by CHQ Managing Editor George Rasley and some 50 other conservative thought leaders and organization heads.

“We here at CHQ think that the Biden administration has been strangely silent and passive in the face of the outrageous episodes of anti-Semitism on college campuses and in America’s largest cities,” said Rasley. “I don’t think it is an accident that the same Biden administration officials who have ignored attacks on conservative speakers on college campuses and on conservative events in these cities are now ignoring attacks on American Jews because the attacks are all coming from the same individuals and organizations on the Left.”

“Yesterday’s March for Israel in Washington, DC should serve as a reminder that the majority of Americans stand with Israel and stand against the waves of anti-Semitism we are seeing across the country,” said AAF Executive Director Paul Teller. “This administration, specifically the Department of Justice and the Department of Education, owe an explanation of what they are doing to combat anti-Semitism to the thousands of Americans who marched for Israel and the Jewish people yesterday.”

The text of the letter and list of signers follows:

Dear Attorney General Garland and Secretary Cardona,

Antisemitic vandalism, harassment, and violence have spiked all across the United States—particularly on college campuses. In one horrific case, an elderly Jewish American man was murdered in an altercation with an anti-Israel protester.

Since the Department of Justice and Department of Education have expansive jurisdiction over matters related to anti-Semitism on college campuses and around the country, please let us know what specific steps your respective department is taking—and plans to take in the near future—to affirmatively combat antiSemitism and protect the lives of Jewish Americans. This is no time to sit idly by.

For your convenience, please send a detailed reply to the following address, and we will ensure that it is distributed to all of the letter’s signers:

Paul Teller, Executive Director, Advancing American Freedom 801 Pennsylvania Avenue NW,

Suite 930, Washington, DC 20004
