It has recently been revealed that the inspector general for the United States Capitol Police (USCP) has launched an investigation into allegations the USCP has been spying on Members of Congress, their staffs, and their office visitors.
It has also been revealed that the US Department of Justice has been opening mail addressed to members of Congress, including our good friend the conservative movement’s indispensable Rep. Louie Gohmert.
Rep. Louie Gohmert (R-Texas) said in a statement reported by Mark Tapscott of the Epoch Times: “In January, my staff received a letter addressed to my official office from a Christian missionary, which was already opened and stamped ‘DOJ MAILROOM’ with a date and ‘X-RAYED’ on the stamp.
“Last week, my office received a second piece of mail from a constituent, mailed from east Texas and postmarked September 2021. It took four-and-a-half months to reach my office, and was also opened and bore a stamp from the DOJ.
“It is gravely concerning that since congressional mail is constitutionally protected under the Speech and Debate Clause of the Constitution, it could be routed, intentionally or not, through the highly partisan DOJ. This is felonious behavior.”
Mr. Tapscott further reported that a Gohmert spokesman said no explanation has been received from postal officials about how mail addressed to a member of Congress could instead be delivered to and opened by the DOJ.
“Given reports breaking today of an Inspector General’s investigation being opened after another Republican member alleged that Speaker Pelosi’s Capitol Police were in his personal office photographing his work product, the Democrats’ spying on political opponents appears to know no end,” Gohmert added in his statement.
In a thread posted to Twitter, Congressman Troy Nehls explained how Capitol Police spies working for Democrat Speaker Nancy Pelosi had illegally entered his office and when discovered tried to intimidate a member of his staff.
The @CapitolPolice Intelligence Division investigated my office illegally and one of my staffers caught them in the act.
On November 20th, 2021, Capitol Police entered my office without my knowledge and photographed confidential legislative products protected by the Speech and Debate clause enshrined in the Constitution, Article 1 Section 6.
Two days later on Monday November 22, 2021 (Thanksgiving week), three intelligence officers attempted to enter my office while the House was in recess.
Upon discovering a member of my staff, special agents dressed like construction workers began to question him as to the contents of a photograph taken illegally two days earlier.
.@CapitolPolice never informed myself or senior level staff of their investigation and the reasons are clear.
They had no authority to photograph my office, let alone investigate myself or members of my staff.
So, why is the Capitol Police Leadership maliciously investigating me in an attempt to destroy me and my character?
Maybe it is because I have been a vocal critic of @SpeakerPelosi, the @January6thCmte, and
@CapitolPolice leadership about their handling of January 6th, the death of Ashli Babbitt and the subsequent SHAM investigation.
As we explained in our article “Pelosi And Schumer Unleash Their Unaccountable Federal Police Force On America” as things stand now the Capitol Police are accountable to no one except the Speaker of the House and the Senate Majority Leader.
Last summer they unleashed a new and totally unaccountable federal police force on America by opening Capitol Police regional field offices in California and Florida “to investigate threats to lawmakers.”
What makes this move by Speaker Pelosi such a threat to liberty is that the Capitol Police are literally accountable to only Democrats - Speaker of the House Nancy Pelosi and Senate Majority Leader Chuck Schumer are their only bosses.
The Capitol Police have no civilian oversight, the Capitol Police Board is comprised of political appointees of the House and Senate leadership, they are not subject to the Freedom of Information Act, their jurisdiction outside the U.S. Capitol Complex is unclear, as is their accountability to courts for the purposes of habeas corpus and other civil rights protections.
There’s absolutely nothing to prevent the Capitol Police from showing up, arresting someone in Florida or California and taking them back to Washington DC in a domestic version of the infamous “renditions” conducted on foreign soil as part of the so-called war on terror.
Now, the Pelosi Police are spying on Republican Members of Congress, probably in conjunction with the Democrat allies at the Biden Department of Justice. They’ve also floated the idea of implementing a new high security cordon around the Capitol Complex similar to the one that restricts entry into the White House Complex. The proposed CAVES system would require all visitors to their Representative or Senators to go through a background check and presumably allow the Capitol Police to collect data on those who wish to exercise their constitutionally protected right to petition their government for redress of grievances.
If Democrats spy on a Congressman, imagine what they will do to you if you come up on their radar? The toll-free Capitol Switchboard (1-866-220-0044), call today and tell your Senators and Representative you demand they put an end to Pelosi and Schumer’s unconstitutional spying on Members of Congress and innocent Americans wishing to exercise their constitutional right to petition their government.
