Democrats Plan Gun Confiscations Targeting Conservatives

Updated: Mar 25

Last Friday, Vice President Kamala Harris, who leads the White House Office of Gun Violence Prevention, toured the school building where a former student opened fire, killing 17 people, including 14 students, on Feb. 14, 2018.

Although the murderer Nikolas Cruz acted more than six-years ago, Democrats continue to try to milk the tragedy for political advantage.

During her visit, Harris announced the launch of what administration officials say is the “first-ever National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center.” It will provide training and technical assistance to state and local governments to implement red flag laws, reported Sergio R. Bustos of WLRN. Funding comes from the Bipartisan Safer Communities Act, which President Biden signed into law in 2022. One of the most sweeping infringements on the Second Amendment to pass Congress in decades.

Red-flag laws, also known as extreme risk protection orders, are intended to temporarily remove guns from people with potentially violent behavior and prevent them from hurting themselves or others. Twenty-one states, including Florida, have such laws on the books, according to our research.

Red-flag laws have been touted by Biden and other gun grabbers as a powerful tool to stop “gun violence” before it happens. But an Associated Press analysis published in 2022 and cited by Mr. Bustos, found such laws were often underused. The AP attributed it to lack of awareness or reluctance to enforce the laws, noted Mr. Bustos.

One recent example happened last October in Lewiston, Maine, where police statewide were alerted about “veiled threats” by a U.S. Army reservist who would later carry out the worst mass shooting in the state’s history. It was one of a string of missed red flags that preceded the massacre, which left 18 people dead, and 13 others wounded, observed Mr. Bustos.

Red flag laws have also resulted in a number of unnecessary deaths as undertrained and overeager police forces have made surprise early morning raids on targets only to be met with gun fire by startled homeowners who were already fragile enough to attract attention and allegedly merit a red flag order.

The good news in all of this is that Harris’s record of getting anything done – she’s also the border Czar – is abysmal, so there’s some hope that with her in charge nothing will happen.

But if we take a look at the Indian signs being left by the Biden administration the picture along the trail is very concerning.

At about the same time Harris was headed was headed to Florida her ostensible Boss – President Biden – was excoriating “extreme” MAGA Republicans as a threat to “our democracy.”

The juxtaposition of the word “extreme” in these two contexts is not a coincidence.

As Missouri state Senator Denny Hoskins (@DLHoskins) posted to X:

Democrats- “We aren’t coming for your guns!”

Also Democrats- “We just created the ‘National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center’ so your anti-2 amendment neighbor can call us, say they think you’re a ‘risk to yourself & society’ and then we can come take your guns.”

This is why I filed the Anti-Red Flag bill. Red flag laws are abused to take away the rights of law-abiding citizens! #moleg @MissouriGOP

The creation of a “National Extreme Risk Protection Order Resource Center” portends the creation of another “fusion center” where Big Data, Big Government, and Big Intel will exchange information to target the political opponents of the regime.

As our friend J. Michael Waller said in a post to his must follow X account (@JMichaelWaller):

We all know what this is. When the president says “extreme Republicans” and DOJ follows with “extreme risk,” it’s clear that a political police is in the making.
