Youngkin Unveils New Plan, Announces $230 Million for Behavioral Health in Virginia

Youngkin’s plan, is a six pronged approach to reshaping the state’s strained behavioral health

care system. The plan ensures same-day care for individuals in a behavioral health crisis, relieves the burden of law enforcement and decriminalizes behavioral health, builds capacity for treatment, targets substance use disorder treatment, prioritizes the behavioral workforce in underserved communities and innovates crisis services.
