In the aftermath of Tucker Carlson’s bombshell first program on the January 6 video tapes the Left and Democrats and the establishment media (but I repeat myself) went absolutely
nuts over the picture that was painted by the full disclosure of the movements of Jacob Chansley, the so-called QAnon Shaman who was made the poster child of the Democrats January 6 “insurrection” narrative.
That Mr. Chansley was sentenced to 41 months in prison and three years of probation when the full video – which was not disclosed to his attorney in violation of his constitutional rights – shows him being led through the Capitol and let into the Senate Chamber by Capitol Police officers seems to have triggered no sympathy for Mr. Chansley or even questions about the propriety of his trial from the usual “rule of law” chorus on the Left.
Rather, Senator Charles Schumer of New York, the Senate’s Democrat Majority Leader, took to the Floor of the Senate to excoriate FOX News for allowing the tape to be aired and to – in a threatening manner – demand that FOX CEO Rupert Murdoch prevent further broadcasts of January 6 material.
First
And later
That Democrats, and their allies in the media and on the Left, should lose it over their insurrection narrative being busted is no surprise, but what was most revealing was the reaction of the Senate’s Republican Minority Leader, Mitch McConnell.
Surrounded by a scrum of his establishment Republican allies, McConnell conducted a hallway press availability during which he castigated Speaker of the House Kevin McCarthy for giving Tucker Carlson’s team access to the 40,000 hours of previously secret video. (Editor’s Note: Remember first it was 14,000 hours of video tape, now it is at least 40,000 hours. What are the chances that number grows.)
Here's what McConnell said to reporters, with the support, though the implication of their presence with him, of those Republican Senators.
"It was a mistake, in my view, for Fox News to depict this in a way that's completely at variance with what our chief law enforcement official here at the Capitol thinks," McConnell told reporters.
In other words, don’t believe your lying eyes, believe what Nancy Pelosi’s handpicked do-boy tells you to believe.
And there’s another problem with McConnell’s reliance on Chief Tomas Manger for his air cover – we mean information – Manger has steadfastly covered up two of the most egregious events of January 6: the murder of Ashli Babbitt by Capitol Police Lt. Michael Byrd and the beating death of Rosanne Boyland at the hands of Metro and Capitol Police officers.
Manger has steadfastly refused to make public any of the information regarding these two unjustified deaths, and Mitch McConnell is relying on, as he put it, what Chief Manger “thinks” about the January 6 protest?
There are two main reasons Mitch McConnell doesn’t want you to see the video that Speaker McCarthy allowed Tucker Carlson’s team to review – it shows how demonstrably false the insurrection narrative that’s been run for the past two years is. And, it shows the complete failure of security, crowd safety and control, and officer safety, that he as then-Senate Majority Leader and then-Speaker Nancy Pelosi instigated by their refusal to adequately prepare the Capitol for the known threats it faced that day.
