Biden Kept Secret Documents Related To Family Influence Peddling Schemes

House Oversight Committee Chairman James Comer yesterday announced the Committee is now investigating whether classified documents President Biden was caught mishandling

included sensitive information related to specific countries involved in his family’s foreign business schemes that brought in millions for the Bidens.

Chairman Comer is seeking information from the Office of Special Counsel Robert Hur related to President Biden’s mishandling of classified documents and the Bidens’ influence peddling schemes. In a letter to Special Counsel Robert Hur, Chairman Comer raises concerns that President Biden may have retained sensitive documents related to specific countries involving his family’s foreign business schemes that brought in millions for the Biden family.

“Evidence suggests President Biden may have used certain members of his family—particularly his son, Hunter Biden—to accumulate millions of dollars from foreign individuals and entities for the benefit of his family and himself. Indeed, the Biden family received millions of dollars from foreign sources while President Biden served in public office and afterwards. If any of the classified documents mishandled by President Biden involved countries or individuals that had financial dealings with Biden family members or their related companies, the Committee needs access to that information to evaluate whether our national security has been compromised,” wrote Chairman Comer.

The House Oversight Committee has obtained financial records revealing the Biden family members, their business associates, and their related companies received significant payments from individuals and companies in China, Russia, Ukraine, Kazakhstan, and Romania. In addition, other evidence recently released by the Ways and Means Committee identified over 20 different countries with ties to the Biden family’s influence peddling schemes. Recently, the House Oversight Committee released information revealing the White House and President Biden’s attorney made misleading statements about the discovery of classified materials at Penn Biden Center. At least five White House employees were also tasked with coordinating, organizing, moving, and removing boxes from Penn Biden Center from March 2021 through October 2022.

“President Biden’s retention of certain classified documents begs the question as to why he kept these particular materials. Of the many classified documents he reviewed over his lengthy career, why did President Biden keep these specific documents in his home and office? The sensitive nature of the information contained in the documents may answer that question for the Committee, which is why we seek to review those materials,” continued Chairman Comer. “The Committee seeks to further understand why President Biden retained certain classified documents, if such information related to any of his family’s foreign business interactions, and why so many White House officials were involved in obtaining these materials.”

The letter to Special Counsel Hur comes hard on the heels of a demand letter Chairman Comer sent to White house Counsel Edward Siskel inquiring about the circumstances under which Annie Tomasini, a senior Biden aide, inspected the classified documents stashed at the Penn Biden Center on March 18, 2021, two months after Biden had taken office and nearly 20 months before they were said to be found, Comer's letter said, citing a letter from a Penn Biden Center employee.

"President Biden’s team has misled the American people about the series of events related to his mishandling of classified documents," Comer told Joe Schoffstall and Cameron Cawthorne of Fox News Digital. "Biden’s team told the American people that documents were unexpectedly found in November 2022, but now we know a White House official and close friend of Hunter Biden was tasked with taking inventory of President Biden’s documents and materials in March 2021."

"Why did the White House and President Biden’s attorney omit this critical piece of information? The Biden White House may have known President Biden had a document problem as early as 2021 and enlisted at least five White House employees to coordinate, organize, move and remove boxes from Penn Biden Center through 2022," Comer said. "The Oversight Committee will continue to pursue the facts and provide the transparency and accountability that the American people demand."

A timeline in the letter reveals that at least "five White House employees, including Dana Remus, Anthony Bernal, Ashley Williams, Annie Tomasini, and an unknown staffer," in addition to Kathy Chung, a top aide to Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin, made multiple visits to the Penn Biden Center and were involved with the retrieval of boxes of documents and materials ahead of early November 2022, which was when Biden's personal attorneys "unexpectedly discovered Obama-Biden documents" in a locked closet at the Biden think tank.

"There is no reasonable explanation as to why this many White House employees and lawyers were so concerned with retrieving boxes they believed only contained personal documents and materials," Comer said.

Chairman Comer’s latest demands for documents follow-up his January 2023 letter requesting information from the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) and the White House Counsel’s Office about President Biden’s failure to return highly classified records from his time as vice president. The documents were discovered in an unsecure closet at the Biden Penn Center. Chairman Comer is concerned that NARA’s inconsistent application of the Presidential Records Act and treatment of classified records held by former President Trump and President Biden raise questions about potential political bias at the agency.
